LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Melody Carter, who worked as a special needs teacher for Harmon Elementary, was facing a felony charge for child abuse. On Monday the judge closed the case after Carter completed an anger management course.
Carter has worked with the Clark County School District since 1996. She was present in court Monday morning with her attorney.
According to court documents, the 58-year-old turned herself in last month after a substitute teacher, filling in for one of Carter’s teacher’s aides, witnessed Carter hit an autistic 5-year-old student with a stick.
