My job is to help people who have been injured in auto accidents in the Las Vegas area. The sad fact is that there are two types of auto accidents; avoidable and unavoidable. Statistics show that more accidents can be avoided if drivers avoid distracted driving.
Most distracted driving is caused by cell phone usage, which obviously includes texting while driving. Passing laws have not been enough of a deterrent. Too many people are still texting while behind the wheel. Parents are not being good examples for their children and teens are growing up making the same poor choices with their smart phones.
The safety of my family is as important to me as your family is to you. I want my family and yours to avoid auto accidents whenever possible.
That’s why I am asking all readers of this blog to stop texting while driving.
Here are two suggestions to help.
- Have a designated texter in the car with you. Ask a passenger to read and respond to your texts which need your immediate attention.
- Download a free app to your phones which will auto reply to any texts received when your car is moving. Some may be found at http://www.itcanwait.com/apps-and-tools
If you need statistics to reaffirm the dangers of driving distracted, either to convince yourself or a family member, many are available HERE.
Finally, if I can ever help you or anyone you know who has been injured in an auto accident, feel free to call me personally, Rich Tanasi at 702-906-2411 or email RTanasi@TanasiLaw.com.
